Surprise! You live in a great city!
Published by Nick Hall on 31 July 2008.Wouldn't it be cool if the city had a couple of spontaneous events every year to really shake things up? Like maybe a really good band starts playing somewhere on a rooftop or a massive water fight breaks out in front of the Salvation Army on Wellington under the bridge and the local news skips the Hog Report to tell you "IT'S HAPPENING NOW" and traffic is backed up for miles as you can see from the helicopter and everyone is hugging and children are chasing each other and laughing and the cops are all dancing with the homeless people in front of a spewing fire hydrant and the parking enforcement officer throws his ticket book into the air and starts singing Thank God I'm a Country Boy by John Denver and the man who holds the cardboard sign that says "Homeless and Hungry - God Bless" finally sees the irony in that and goes home.
Yeah.
